AethexAI Raises $3M Pre-seed

AethexAI, a startup based in Africa and the Middle East, has raised $3 million in pre-seed funding to develop its specialized voice AI platform. Founded to bridge the gap in automated customer support for regions often overlooked by major AI players, the company builds localized voice solutions that account for specific dialects and infrastructure challenges.

The round was led by 4DX Ventures, with participation from Enza Capital, Dorm Room Fund, Mojo Ventures, and Stanford GSB 26 Fund. Additional individual investors include Stanford faculty, telecom executives, and AI researchers from Anthropic.

Capital from this round will be used to support the company as it expands its enterprise platform and continues to train its proprietary Kora series of small language models. The funding will also support hiring forward-deployed engineers on a contract basis and building out channel partnerships with regional telecommunications providers.

Founded in 2025 by Mariama Diallo and Ayooluwa Odemuyiwa, AethexAI aims to provide low-latency voice AI solutions tailored for African and Middle Eastern markets. The company develops its own small models and orchestration layers to effectively handle local dialects and code-switching in English, French, and Arabic, moving away from reliance on Western-centric infrastructure.
