Apate.ai Raises $2.5 Million in Seed Round

Apate.ai, an Australia-based cyber-intelligence startup, has raised $2.5 million in a seed funding round.

The round was led by OIF Ventures, with participation from Investible.

OIF Ventures, an Australian venture capital firm based in Sydney and established in 2016, manages over $500 million in assets. The firm primarily invests in companies within the B2B SaaS, fintech, cybersecurity, and marketplace sectors, typically at the Seed, Pre-Series A, and Series A stages.

The company will use the funding for product development, international expansion, and hiring engineering and go-to-market teams. It also plans to expand partnerships with financial institutions, telcos, and governments.

Founded in 2024 as a spin-out from Macquarie University, Apate.ai is an AI-powered fraud prevention and intelligence platform that uses conversational AI bots to combat scams proactively. The company develops thousands of advanced bots that engage scammers across voice calls and messaging platforms such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and SMS. Its platform leverages conversational AI and machine learning to adapt in real time, providing dynamic protection.
