The round was led by OIF Ventures, with participation from Investible.

OIF Ventures, an Australian venture capital firm based in Sydney and established in 2016, manages over $500 million in assets. The firm primarily invests in companies within the B2B SaaS, fintech, cybersecurity, and marketplace sectors, typically at the Seed, Pre-Series A, and Series A stages.

The company will use the funding for product development, international expansion, and hiring engineering and go-to-market teams. It also plans to expand partnerships with financial institutions, telcos, and governments.

Founded in 2024 as a spin-out from Macquarie University, Apate.ai is an AI-powered fraud prevention and intelligence platform that uses conversational AI bots to combat scams proactively.
