Arkenstone Defense Raises $35M Seed

Arkenstone Defense, based in Menlo Park, California, a company that provides an operating platform for commercial technology firms to navigate government contracting, has raised $35 million in a seed funding round.

The round was led by J2 Ventures, a firm specializing in dual-use technologies, with participation from Susa Ventures, Granite Hill Capital Partners, and Artis Ventures.

Arkenstone Defense intends to use the capital to scale its platform, which integrates workforce operations, HR, payroll, security, compliance, and accreditation, enabling commercial technology companies to enter the federal market more efficiently.

Founded by Peter Dixon and William Treseder, Arkenstone Defense builds a managed platform that functions as a government contracting back office. The company aims to eliminate the operational and compliance burdens that prevent commercial technology providers from selling software and advanced capabilities to the U.S. government.
