Aviva Raises $18M Series A
Aviva, a Mexico-based fintech company that provides AI-powered loans to underserved individuals and small businesses, has raised $18 million in a Series A funding round. This latest injection of capital brings the company's total equity funding to $34 million.
The funding round was led by Valor Capital Group. Participating investors included BID Labs, Caravela Capital, Endeavor, Wollef, Ignia, Krealo, and Newtopia.
Aviva plans to utilize the new capital to support its expansion efforts across Mexico and to facilitate the launch of new financial products tailored for underserved consumers.
Founded to serve Mexico's informal economy, Aviva provides loans ranging from $100 to $1,000. The company utilizes physical kiosks where customers interact with an AI-powered bot over video calls to process loan applications within minutes. Aviva currently operates in 23 of Mexico's 32 states, serving a market of more than 50 million adults.
