Axle Energy Raises $25M Series A

London-based virtual power plant software provider Axle Energy has raised $25M in a Series A funding round to scale its operations across the UK and international markets. The company provides a platform that integrates distributed home energy assets such as electric vehicle chargers and heat pumps into electricity markets to balance grid supply and demand.

The funding round was led by Energize Capital, a US-based energy software investor. Existing investors Accel, Picus Capital, and Eka Ventures also participated in the round.

Axle Energy intends to use the capital to expand its partnerships and tap into approximately 75 million eligible energy assets across Europe and the United States.

Founded in 2023 by Karl Bach and Archy de Berker, Axle Energy develops a software platform that aggregates decentralized energy assets. The company mission is to provide flexible capacity to utilities, fleet operators, and original equipment manufacturers by coordinating energy usage to reduce reliance on fossil-fuel generation.
