Aya Data Raises $900K in Seed Round
Aya Data, an Accra, Ghana-based artificial intelligence (AI) startup, has raised $900,000 in seed funding, bringing its total funding to $1.15 million.
The funding round saw participation from key investors, including 54 Collective and several angel investors.
The company will use the funding to enhance its two flagship products, AyaGrow and AyaSpeech, and expand its team.
Founded in 2021 by Freddie Monk and Ama Larbi-Siaw, Aya Data specializes in data collection and annotation services, essential for training large language models and other AI applications. The company offers two key products: AyaGrow, which delivers AI-driven precision agriculture solutions, and AyaSpeech, a speech-to-speech platform designed to facilitate communication in local African languages. The company’s vision includes training over 1,000 data professionals, aiming to develop AI talent across Africa. Aya Data served global clients, including MIT, Unilever, and Nvidia.
