BAIBYS Raises $4.5 Million in Series A

BAIBYS, a Tel Aviv, Israel-based startup that developed an autonomous system for selecting ideal sperm for fertility treatments, has raised $4.5 million in Series A funding.

The round was led by Firstime Ventures, with participation from Japanese pharmaceutical giant ROHTO. This latest funding brings BAIBYS' total investment to $6.5 million.

Founded in 2014, Firstime Ventures is a Tel Aviv-based venture capital firm dedicated to supporting companies that are shaping a sustainable and accessible future. Its investment areas include Climate Solutions, Precision Agriculture, and Digital Health.

The company will use the funding to accelerate its R&D and market entry.

Founded in 2020 by Dr. Nino Guy Cassuto and Gal Golov, BAIBYS offers an autonomous sperm selection solution for In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF). Using advanced machine vision (MV) and AI, the technology analyzes live sperm cells in real time, evaluating their quality based on high-magnification morphological criteria. The system then employs robotics to autonomously select and collect the sperm with the highest fertilization potential, ready for microinjection in IVF procedures.
