ChatCut Raises $1.35 Million in Seed Round

ChatCut, an Austin, Texas-based conversational AI video editing platform, has raised $1.35 million in a Seed funding round.

The round was led by ZhenFund, with participation from Antler.

ZhenFund is a pure seed-stage investor, primarily backing startups at the Angel and Seed stages. The firm focuses on innovative companies in China, with headquarters in Beijing, additional offices in Shanghai and Shenzhen, and a presence in Silicon Valley (Palo Alto) to engage with the global tech ecosystem.

The funding will be used to scale ChatCut’s infrastructure, enhance platform capabilities, and expand its engineering team with AI and full-stack engineers.

Founded by Kaiwen Li and Alima Strickland, ChatCut is an AI-powered video editing software that enables users to edit videos using natural language prompts. It allows for tasks such as removing repeated takes, creating highlights, and cutting videos for social media—all through conversational commands.
