Chpter Raises $1.2M in Pre-Seed Round

Chpter, a Nairobi, Kenya-based AI-driven social commerce startup, has raised $1.2 million in a pre-seed funding round.

The round was led by Ken Njoroge, Co-Founder and former CEO of Cellulant, through his firm PANI. Additional support came from Plesion Capital, Techstars, and notable angel investors, including Benjamin Fernandes, founder of NALA, and the co-founders of Workpay.

The company plans to use the fresh funds to enhance its product development, expand into new markets, and boost its sales and marketing efforts. Chpter aims to enter at least five new markets, including Nigeria, Ghana, Egypt, and Morocco, in the coming months.

Founded in Kenya in 2022 by Mesongo Sibuti, Kuria Kevin, Mark Kiarie, and Tesh Mbaabu, chpter provides an AI-powered conversational commerce platform that enables businesses to sell more on social platforms. It leverages AI technology to help businesses sell their products through popular social media channels like WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok by automating conversations, marketing, and payments all in one place.
