Cigno Raises CHF 1.5M Seed
Cigno, a Geneva-based startup developing an AI infrastructure layer for management consulting, has closed a 1.5 million Swiss francs seed round.
The funding round included participation from Lino Finini, former Group COO of Swissquote, Pasha Bakhtiar, former Group CEO of Reyl Intesa Sanpaolo and co-founder of Alpian Bank, Niresh Rajah, former Group CDO of Danske Bank, Arnaud Denis, former Group CEO of MeDirect, Hazem Mulhim, founder and CEO of Eastnets, and former Credit Suisse executive Martin Mende.
Cigno plans to use the newly raised capital to build out its AI infrastructure layer and support the rollout of its platform for management consulting firms targeting the financial services sector in Switzerland and Europe.
Founded in 2026 by Philippe Reynier, Nicolas Lagrèze, and Vahan Avetisyan, Cigno specializes in automating complex consulting workflows through proprietary reasoning models and specialized AI agents designed for financial services firms. The company provides a platform that automates the entire consulting lifecycle, from research and data gathering to the delivery of structured recommendations. Cigno emphasizes data sovereignty and regulatory compliance, offering a sovereign-by-design architecture that meets the stringent requirements of banks, insurers, and asset managers.
