CrestLab Raises Seed Funding Round

CrestLab, a Tokyo, Japan–based startup that provides an AI animation production platform, has raised a seed funding round.

East Ventures, NTT Docomo, Cork Co., Ltd., and several individual investors participated in the round.

The company will use the funds to develop its AI-powered platform further, strengthen deployment capabilities, and expand adoption among anime production studios.

CrestLab is a company that develops and provides an AI-powered animation production support platform called ANICRA. The company was spun out from NTT Docomo's in-house entrepreneurship program, docomo STARTUP, and was founded in January 2025 by Yuta Bando and Wataru Wada. Headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, its platform automates key stages of anime production, like in-betweening and finishing, using AI.
