Firewave Raises $500,000 Pre-seed
Firewave, a startup based in Israel, develops AI-powered acoustic sensors designed for ultra-early wildfire detection. The company recently raised $500,000 in Pre-Seed funding to advance its technology for protecting high-risk areas from catastrophic fires.
Techstars, Tonbo Ventures, and a group of angel investors, along with a grant from the Israeli Innovation Authority, participated in this funding round.
Firewave plans to use the capital to scale its operations, refine its Gen2 sensing systems, and expand pilot deployments for its AI-driven fire detection technology across Israel and the United States.
Founded in 2024 by Dr. Jenia Yurkovsky and Eduard Grinberg, Firewave aims to usher in the next generation of firefighting technology. The company leverages acoustic sensors and cloud-based AI to identify the unique sound signatures of combustion, allowing for fire detection in minutes even in dense vegetation or low-visibility conditions.
