Fora Raises $60M Series D
Fora, an AI-powered travel agency based in New York, has raised $60 million in a Series D funding round, bringing the company to a $1 billion valuation. To date, the company has secured a total of $138.5 million in funding. Fora offers a dual-sided platform that provides infrastructure for individuals to become professional travel agents while also enabling users to connect with these advisors to plan trips.
The Series D round was led by Forerunner and Tactile Ventures, with participation from Insight Partners and Thrive Capital.
Fora plans to use the new capital to expand its AI assistant named Via, which automates administrative travel planning tasks such as research and itinerary building. Additionally, the company intends to hire new staff and expand its services into new travel categories, specifically cruises and flights.
Founded in 2021, Fora operates a platform designed to lower the barrier to entry for aspiring travel advisors. By providing a suite of tools for client communication and travel management, the company aims to enhance human travel agents' productivity rather than replace them.
