Glint Solar Raises $8 Million in Series A

Glint Solar, an Oslo, Norway-based SaaS startup focused on accelerating solar energy adoptions, has raised $8 million in Series A funding.

The round was led by Smedvig Ventures, with additional investment from Antler Nordic, Antler Elevate, Futurum Ventures, and Momentum.

Smedvig Capital is the London arm of the Smedvig Family Office and invests in private market assets on behalf of the Smedvig family and other select family offices. The firm investing since 1996 with a particular focus on Private Equity and Venture Capital.

The company will use the funds to expand across Europe, enabling Glint to target new markets, including Italy and Spain.

Founded in 2020, Glint Solar offers a SaaS platform specifically designed to streamline the planning and pre-design stages of solar energy projects. Its platform uses data from a variety of sources to assist solar developers and large energy companies—such as E.ON, Recurrent Energy, and Statkraft. The platform includes tools for customizable layout design, yield estimation, and topographic analysis, and it integrates country-specific geographic information system (GIS) data.
