GoMetro Raises £9 Million in Series A

GoMetro, a South Africa-based tech company that provides a fleet management platform, raised £9 million in a Series A funding.

The round was led by Zenobē Energy, with participation from new backers Futuregrowth, ESquared Ventures, Kalon Venture Partners, and angel investor Greg Fury. Existing investors like 4 Decades Capital, Hlayisani Capital, and Tritech Global also participated.

Founded in 2016, Zenobē Energy is a manufacturer and designer of battery storage assets intended for electric bus operators, utilities, and industrial and commercial businesses.

The company will use the funding to accelerate product development and expand the sales and marketing team. The company is also focused on expanding its operations in the UK, Europe, and South Africa, as well as the US, Latin America, and Australia.

GoMetro is a B2B SaaS fleet management company that allows businesses to streamline bookings, payments, and client management and offers a consolidated view of data from multiple OEMs. GoMetro serves as a SaaS fleet management technology platform that focuses on vehicle data via Bridge, its flagship product that functions as a telemetry and data aggregator. The fleet management platform currently has a network of 15,000 vehicles, 1,000 of which are electric. The company’s mission is to digitize heavy-duty commercial transport operations.
