hexafarms Raises €1.3M in Pre-Seed Round
hexafarms, a Berlin, Germany-based agtech company specializing in leveraging AI to optimize greenhouses, has raised €1.3 million in pre-seed funding.
The round was led by Speedinvest, with participation from Mudcake and Techstars.
Speedinvest is a venture capital fund with more than €1B to invest in pre-seed, Seed, and early-stage tech startups across Europe. It was founded in 2011 and is based in Vienna, Austria.
The company plans to use the funding to further develop its AI and machine learning capabilities.
Founded in 2021, hexafarms offers an AI-driven SaaS solution designed to streamline food production in commercial greenhouses. Its SaaS harvests data and leverages AI to monitor, control, and optimize greenhouses and vertical indoor farms in real time. hexafarms currently has the widest portfolio across Europe based on public information on supported crops and cultivars and is processing an estimated 9 million kilos of strawberries and tomatoes for this quarter.
