HPC-AI Tech Raises $50 Million in Series A

HPC-AI Tech, a San Francisco, CA-based AI startup specializing in software infrastructure and video generation, has raised $50 million in Series A funding.

The investors in the round include Singtel Innov8, Sinovation Ventures, Capstone Capital, Greater Bay Area Homeland, Lingfeng Capital, and Stony Creek Capital.

The new funding will accelerate the development of HPC-AI Tech’s platforms and grow its client base to 300 in the next three years.

Founded by Yang You, HPC-AI Tech focuses on developing AI software infrastructure and tools, particularly for high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI) applications. Its flagship products, Colossal-AI and Open-Sora, are designed to enable enterprises to manage and scale large AI models such as GPT and LLaMA. In addition to its open-source initiatives, HPC-AI Tech offers two commercial platforms: one for managing AI model training, fine-tuning, and deployment, and another for video generation, allowing users to create everything from short TikTok-style clips to full-length films. Notable clients include AWS, Alibaba, IBM, Intel, Grab, Panasonic, VIVO, Geely Auto, Bosch, Lambda Labs, and Oracle.
