Idilio, a Latin American microdrama platform that utilizes artificial intelligence for content production, has raised $5.5M in a seed funding round. The company focuses on creating short-form drama series tailored for Spanish and Portuguese speaking audiences, operating at the intersection of traditional telenovelas and vertical mobile video.

The funding round included participation from WndrCo, a16z Speedrun, Goodwater Capital, Precursor Ventures, David Velez, Jonathan Carson, Blitzscaling Ventures, Honeystone Ventures, Accelerator Ventures, Raw Ventures, Numundo Ventures, Alex Mashrabov, Graham Weaver, Brian Jacobs, Endurance VC, FoundersX, TenSquared Capital, Cooley, Matt Widowes, GSB 25 Fund and MBA Ventures.

The capital will support the continued development of the company technology platform and the expansion of its content offerings, including the newly launched Idilio Creators program which allows independent makers to monetize content on the platform.

Founded by Gabriela Tafur and Esteban Ramirez, Idilio is a technology company building a platform for the global microdrama boom. The platform uses AI to produce short-form series significantly faster and more cost-effectively than traditional production methods, specifically serving the Latin American market.
