JUPUS Raises €13M Series A

JUPUS, a LegalTech startup based in Cologne, Germany, has raised 13 million euros in a Series A funding round to accelerate its AI-driven legal secretarial services. With this latest investment, the company has secured a total of over 20 million euros in funding to support its growth and European expansion plans.

The round was led by Semapa Next, a venture capital firm focused on category-leading startups. Additional investors participating in the round include NRW.BANK through its NRW.Venture fund, along with existing backers Acton Capital and High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF). The round also saw participation from Combination VC and several business angels including Kilian Kaminski, Artjem Weissbeck, Julius Göllner, Feliks Eyser, and Felix Plog.

JUPUS plans to use the new capital to fund the next stage of development for its legal AI technology. The funds will also support the company’s efforts to scale its operations within the German market and drive a broader European expansion strategy.

Founded in 2022 by René Fergen and Jannis Gebauer, JUPUS provides the first AI-powered secretarial service designed specifically for law firms in Europe. Its software automates administrative tasks including client communication, case structuring, and document drafting, helping small and mid-sized law firms manage workloads efficiently while remaining GDPR-compliant.
