Maisa Raises $5 Million in Pre-Seed Round

Maisa, a San Francisco, CA, and Valencia, Spain-based AI startup, has raised $5 million in pre-seed funding.

The round was led by NFX and Village Global, with participation from angel investors, a Sequoia scout, and DeepMind PM Lukas Haas.

NFX is a venture capital firm exclusively focused on pre-seed and seed-stage startups. The firm typically invests between $1 million and $5 million per check, targeting companies in the U.S., Israel, Latin America, and Europe. The firm was founded in 2017 and is based in San Francisco.

Village Global is a network-native venture capital firm with approximately $500 million in assets under management (AUM). The firm leads pre-seed and seed rounds across various industries. Also founded in 2017, Village Global is headquartered in San Francisco, California.

The funding will be used to develop and accelerate the go-to-market efforts further.

Founded in 2024 by David Villalón and Manuel Romero, Maisa has developed an agentic AI system that offers Chain-of-Work to prove the outcomes of the AI with full transparency and step-by-step traceability. Its agentic AI system, the Vinci Knowledge Processing Unit (KPU), is designed to autonomously pursue goals, adapt dynamically to changes, and make decisions without human intervention. Co-headquartered in San Francisco, USA, and Valencia, Spain, Maisa has already attracted early adopters, including a major international car manufacturer and an oil and gas company.
