Meticulous Raises $15M Series A
Meticulous, a London-based software company helping developers ship AI-generated code, has raised $15M in Series A funding. The startup provides tools to test and verify AI-generated code, addressing the bottleneck of manual review cycles and bugs in increasingly complex codebases.
The round was led by Chemistry, a San Francisco-based venture capital firm. Additional investors participating in the round include Menlo Ventures, Lachy Groom, Jason Warner (Poolside), Arash Ferdowsi (Dropbox), Scott Belsky (Adobe), Guillermo Rauch (Vercel), Calvin French-Owen (OpenAI), Caitlin Colgrove (Hex), and Jason Ginsberg (Cursor).
Meticulous plans to use the fresh capital to ramp up marketing efforts, moving beyond its previous reliance on word-of-mouth. The company will also invest in research and development to expand its testing capabilities from frontend to backend and performance testing, alongside growing its headcount from 20 to approximately 30 or 40 employees over the next year.
Founded by brothers Gabriel Spencer-Harper and Quentin Spencer-Harper, Meticulous aims to help developers trust AI-generated code to ship faster. The company analyzes codebases to create a checklist of edge cases, simulating user flows to identify potential failures before code is merged into production. Its customers include companies such as Notion, ElevenLabs, Dropbox, Wiz, and LaunchDarkly.
