Paper Raises $34M Series A

Paper, a San Francisco-based design platform company, has raised $34 million in Series A funding. The company provides a design environment built for the agentic era, enabling closer collaboration between designers and engineers through AI-native workflows.

The funding round was led by Accel and ICONIQ. Additional participating investors include Designer Fund, Michael Grinich (WorkOS), Anton Osika (Lovable), and various engineers and designers from Anthropic and OpenAI.

Paper plans to use the new capital to accelerate product development, expand its team, and deepen its investment in AI-native workflows for designers.

Founded by CEO Stephen Haney, Paper provides a design platform that renders with HTML and CSS to allow designs to connect directly with production code. The company's platform is designed to facilitate collaboration between designers and AI agents, helping teams reduce friction when transitioning from design to product development.
