Pillar Security Raises $9 Million in Seed Round

Pillar Security, a Tel Aviv, Israel-based AI security startup that helps enterprises build and run secure AI software, has raised $9 million in seed funding.

The round was led by Shield Capital, with participation from Golden Ventures, Ground Up Ventures, and strategic angel investors.

Shield Capital is a U.S.-based venture capital firm founded in 2021 and headquartered in Burlingame, California. The firm specializes in early-stage investments in companies with focus areas that include artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, autonomy, and space technology.

The company will use the funds to support the expansion of its research and development (R&D) efforts as well as its go-to-market strategy.

Founded in 2023 by Dor Sarig and Ziv Karliner, Pillar Security offers an end-to-end security platform for AI-integrated software systems. Its platform helps enterprises protect AI applications throughout their lifecycle, from development to deployment. Pillar integrates seamlessly with existing code repositories, data infrastructures, and AI/ML platforms, mapping all AI assets across the organization—models, datasets, prompts, notebooks, and frameworks.
