Pixeltable Raises $5.5 Million in Seed Round

Pixeltable, a San Francisco, CA-based cutting-edge AI data infrastructure platform, has raised $5.5 million in seed funding.

The company also launched its open-source solution.

The round was led by The General Partnership, with participation from Exceptional Capital, South Park Commons, Liquid 2, Serena Data Ventures, and industry veterans such as Michael Stoppelman (former SVP of Engineering at Yelp), Wes McKinney (creator of Apache Arrow), and Steven Mih (CEO of Across AI).

The General Partnership is a venture capital firm that supports startups during their formation and growth stages. The firm invests in early-stage companies in the software, financial services, and information technology sectors, focusing on the United States, particularly in San Francisco, New York, and Seattle.

The funding will accelerate Pixeltable's development, focusing on expanding core infrastructure capabilities, building collaboration features for multimodal data management, and developing Pixeltable Cloud, a fully managed service.

Pixeltable provides an open-source AI data infrastructure platform designed to simplify and accelerate the development of AI applications. Pixeltable redefines data infrastructure for AI application development by unifying data storage, versioning, and indexing with orchestration and model versioning under a declarative table interface. By representing transformations, model inferences, and custom logic as computed columns, Pixeltable enables data scientists and ML engineers to focus on modeling and experimentation rather than data plumbing.
