Rize Raises $31M Series B

Sustainable agritech platform Rize, headquartered in Singapore, has raised $31 million in a Series B round of equity and debt. The company focuses on decarbonizing rice cultivation across South-East Asia.

The $20 million equity portion of the round was led by BNP Paribas Asset Management Alts, with participation from Temasek, the Rockefeller Foundation, and Breakthrough Energy Ventures. The $11 million debt funding was provided by United Overseas Bank, Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam, and the Temasek Foundation.

The capital will be used to deepen the company's presence in Vietnam and Indonesia. The equity funding will also support the development of the platform, the creation of artificial intelligence tools for field agronomists, and enhancements to carbon certification self-reporting.

Founded by CEO Dhruv Sawhney, Rize is a sustainable agritech platform that helps farmers decarbonize rice cultivation. The company utilizes a financing-led model, providing farmers with seeds, fertilizer, and equipment on zero-interest credit.
