Runta Raises $20M Seed

Runta, an AI agent infrastructure startup, has raised $20 million in a seed round. The company provides a specialized environment that allows businesses to safely manage and secure autonomous AI agents, acting as a guardrail system to prevent unauthorized actions or system damage.

This round was led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), a venture capital firm known for investing in high-growth technology companies.

Runta plans to use the capital to build out its core systems software, which aims to provide AI agents with dedicated operating environments featuring built-in security controls and compute resources.

Founded by Guanlan Dai, Runta is an AI infrastructure startup building secure runtime environments for autonomous AI agents. The company enables enterprises to safely deploy AI agents by isolating workloads, enforcing permission controls, and limiting access to sensitive systems and resources. Its platform is designed to provide AI agents with a full operating environment while preventing unauthorized actions, excessive spending, or system disruptions.
