Sail Research Raises $80M Series A

Sail Research, a San Francisco based infrastructure company focused on AI agents, has raised $80 million in combined Seed and Series A funding, bringing its valuation to $450 million. The company provides a platform specifically designed to support long-horizon AI agents through optimized inference stacks and stateful sandbox environments.

The Series A round was led by Kleiner Perkins, and the Seed round was led by Sequoia. Additional participating investors included Redpoint Ventures, Theory Ventures, Vine Ventures, CRV, A*, and Abstract Ventures, along with individual angel investors John Hennessy, Lip-Bu Tan, and Tri Dao.

Founded in 2026, Sail Research was established by Neil Movva and Samir Menon. The company focuses on the AI agent infrastructure layer, providing tools that allow autonomous agents to perform complex, long-running tasks. Their product features a high-throughput inference stack and a sandbox environment called Sailboxes that enables agents to run for extended durations.
