Send AI Raises €2.2 Million in Pre-Seed Round

Send AI, an Amsterdam, Netherlands-based startup that builds software to teach AI models to process documents and emails, has raised €2.2 million in pre-seed funding.

The round was led by Google's AI fund, Gradient Ventures, and Dutch VC firm Keen Venture Partners. The round also saw participation from former and current executives of UiPath, MongoDB, and Google DeepMind.

Founded in 2017, Gradient Ventures is the venture capital investment arm of Alphabet based in Mountain View, California. The firm seeks to invest in seed-stage and early-stage companies operating in the information technology, artificial intelligence, and machine learning sectors.

Keen Venture Partners is a venture capital firm based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Founded in 2014, the firm invests in European technology companies operating in the data and intelligence, software services, and digital model's sectors.

The company will use the funding to enhance the team, accelerate the development of internal AI models, and support international expansion.

Founded in 2021 under the name Autopilot by Thom Trentelman and Philip Weijschede, Send AI, specializes in automating document processing for businesses. Unlike traditional AI models, Send AI uses a blend of smaller open-source models for data security, keeping sensitive customer data on-site. The platform excels in extracting information from diverse documents, including low-quality scans and photographed paperwork. Send AI's features include OCR-based Scan to Text, data extraction, model training, and data export with validation.
