Shield AI Raises Additional Series F Funding

Shield AI, a San Diego, CA-based defense tech company has expanded its Series F funding round to $500 million, adding $100M in equity and $200M in debt funding.

The investment was from Hercules Capital.

Hercules Capital is a venture capital firm. The firm provides venture debt to technology, life sciences, and renewable technology industries.

The company will use the funding to accelerate the deployment of AI pilots to different classes of aircraft.

Its AI pilot, Hivemind, has flown a fighter jet (F-16), a vertical takeoff and landing drone (V-BAT), and a quadcopter (Nova).
