SkyPilot Raises $20M Seed

SkyPilot, based in San Francisco, is a provider of a unified AI compute platform that helps frontier AI teams manage infrastructure across various clouds and clusters. The company has announced the closure of a $20 million seed funding round as it emerges from stealth mode.

This round was led by Lux Capital, with participation from Amplify Partners, Coatue Management, Foundation Capital, Race Capital, The House Fund, Ali Ghodsi, Jeff Dean, Guillermo Rauch, Amjad Masad, Clem Delangue, and Tristan Handy.

SkyPilot plans to use the seed capital to support product development, expand its engineering team, drive go-to-market growth, and continue investment in the SkyPilot open source ecosystem.

Founded in 2026 by researchers Zongheng Yang, Zhanghao Wu, Romil Bhardwaj, Ion Stoica, and Scott Shenker, SkyPilot offers an AI compute platform that turns fragmented clouds, clusters, and accelerators into a unified supercomputer for training, reinforcement learning, and inference tasks.
