Smartness Raises €47M Series B

Trentino-based Smartness, an Italian TravelTech startup specializing in AI technology for hotels and non-hotel accommodations, has closed a €47 million Series B round. This round included primary and secondary equity as well as a debt component. With this transaction, the total capital raised by the company now exceeds €60 million.

This round was led by United Ventures and CDP Venture Capital. Existing investor Partech, which previously led Smartness’ 2023 €13 million Series A round, also participated.

Smartness intends to strengthen its competitive advantage in the global market, which is rapidly moving from software tools to AI-powered operational systems. The company aims to scale quickly to €100 million in revenue and eventually reach over €1 billion. For 2026, Smartness has set a goal of tripling revenue through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisitions across Europe, further accelerating market consolidation.

Founded in 2020 by CEO and co-founder Luca Rodella, Smartness started with its dynamic pricing software, Smartpricing. The company's mission is to become the go-to operational partner for hoteliers and property managers. Smartness has since expanded its offerings from intelligent pricing management into CRM, payments, a property management system, guest communication, and operational AI solutions. Its long-term vision is to build the world’s first Agentic System for hotels and vacation rentals, where software directly carries out operational tasks on behalf of the customer.
