Traversal Lands Strategic Investment

Traversal, a New York–based AI platform for site reliability engineering, has received a strategic investment.

The investment was from Amex Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of American Express. Based in New York and established in 2011, the firm makes early-stage investments across sectors, including fintech, commerce, consumer services, enterprise technology, data and security, and frontier technologies that align with strategic opportunities for American Express. Amex Ventures has backed more than 100 companies.

The investment will support Traversal’s expansion of its AI-powered SRE platform and help scale its technology for enterprise infrastructure operations.

Led by CEO Anish Agarwal, Traversal is a frontier AI lab building AI agents for enterprise-grade site reliability engineering (SRE). Its platform autonomously detects, investigates, and resolves production incidents across complex distributed systems. Its core technology, combining the Production World Model™ and Causal Search Engine™, enables AI to reason over large-scale observability data, identify root causes, and recommend or execute remediation. Built for enterprise-scale complexity, Traversal can handle petabytes of data across siloed platforms.
