Upstream Raises $3M Pre-seed
Paris-based Upstream, a software startup developing an AI-native email platform, has raised $3 million in a pre-seed funding round. The company is exiting stealth mode to introduce an inbox designed to support both human users and AI agents simultaneously.
The round was backed by Y Combinator, Connect Ventures, and a group of over 30 founders and operators from companies including Framer, Algolia, Asana, Alan, and Webflow.
Upstream plans to use the capital to support its public launch and continue development of its email platform, which enables AI agents to actively manage workflows such as drafting responses, scheduling meetings, and retrieving information from internal knowledge bases.
Founded in 2023 by Louis Lecat and Jonathan Tiret, Upstream is a Paris-based software company based at Station F. The startup aims to modernize the email experience by building an infrastructure that allows human teams and AI agents to collaborate effectively within a single inbox environment.
