Whispp Secures €750,000 in Seed Round

Whispp, a Leiden, Netherlands-based startup that uses AI to provide individuals with speech impediments, a new voice, has secured €750,000 in seed funding.

The round was led by LUMO Labs, with participation from Leiden University holding Libertatis Ergo Holding and other angel investors.

LUMO Labs is an impact-driven multi-stage (pre-seed through series A) capital fund with a two-year venture builder program. Based in Eindhoven, Netherlands, the firm has an additional office in Los Angeles.

The funding will be used to launch the company's assistive voice technology and debut a paid subscription-based calling app, while also expanding into the European and US markets through strategic partnerships.

Whispp is a developer of artificial intelligence speech software designed for individuals suffering from voice disorders. The company's software converts whispered speech and vocal cord-impaired speech into a person's natural voice in real-time, including the intended intonation and emotion, enabling individuals to digitally improve the sound of their speech on their smartphones and laptops. Whispp uses AI to provide real-time assistive voice technology and a calling app for individuals with speech impediments, such as those suffering from stuttering, throat cancer, vocal cord paralysis, and ALS.
