Inspired Capital is a U.S.-based early-stage venture capital firm headquartered in New York City. It was founded in 2019 by Alexa von Tobel and Penny Pritzker. The firm operates as a generalist VC, investing across sectors such as AI, fintech, healthcare, industrials, and education, with a focus on backing founders tackling complex global challenges. It primarily leads or participates in pre-seed, seed, and Series A rounds.

The company will use the funds to expand its AI-powered HR platform and further develop its context graph infrastructure for workforce insights and decision-making.

Led by CEO Max Shaw, Windmill is an AI company building a context graph system designed to help organizations better understand, manage, and develop their workforce. By integrating with tools like Slack, GitHub, and Google Workspace, Windmill captures real-time data on employee performance, collaboration, and growth. Its platform transforms traditionally manual processes, such as performance reviews, into automated, data-driven workflows, enabling faster and more accurate people decisions. Windmill’s AI agent, Windy, can draft performance reviews, suggest discussion points for one-on-one meetings, and help managers track progress without relying on memory or periodic check-ins.
