Yope, a London-based social networking startup, has raised $12.3 million in funding to expand its private, algorithm-free social media platform. This latest round brings the company's total funding to $20 million.

The round was led by Northzone, an investment firm known for backing consumer platforms like Spotify and Klarna. Additional participating investors include Inovo, Redseed, and Geek Ventures.

The company plans to use the capital to accelerate product development, expand its 35-person team, and establish a new office in the United States.

Founded by Bahram Ismailau and Paul Rudkouski, Yope is an AI-native social platform designed to facilitate private interactions among friends and family. The app focuses on micro communities and offers a subscription-based experience without algorithmic feeds or advertising.
