Mediqstar Closes Pre-Series B Round
Mediqstar, a South Korean medical AI and medical large language model startup based in South Korea, has completed a pre-Series B funding round. The investment was provided by Genaxis to support the international expansion of the company's diagnostic platforms.
Genaxis, an accelerator that previously participated in Mediqstar's Series A round, served as the sole investor for this pre-Series B funding.
Mediqstar plans to use the new capital to accelerate the overseas commercialization of its AI-powered tuberculosis diagnostic microscopy platform, MycoScan. Additionally, the funds will support research and development for the company's broader medical AI pipeline, including new diagnostic tools for colorectal cancer.
Founded by CEO Jong-Eon Im, Mediqstar focuses on developing medical AI technology and large language models. The company's flagship product, MycoScan, is an AI-based tuberculosis diagnostic solution that allows for rapid detection and drug-resistance testing in standard computing environments, even in areas with limited medical infrastructure.
